Here at CTC it's as easy as the "ABC's" to find the right intervention option. In addition to the conventional hourly intervention, the following sessions are offered: |
- Accelerated Ambulators
-
Short term intensive physical therapy that consists of treadmill training, partial weight bearing, circuit training, strength training and the Wii fit. Perfect for the child with cerebral palsy and supported by numerous research projects.
- Buddy Bunch
-
A social group for children with sensory integration issues.
- Constraint Therapy Camp
-
A model of intervention based on the research and program at University of Alabama. The program is appropriate for all ages of children with hemiplegia cerebral palsy. Improved motor function of the involved arm is seen when a constraint (cast) is placed on the uninvolved arm, "forcing" usage of the side with hemiplegia.
- Delectable Discoveries
-
A feeding program for the picky eater that integrates sensory, oral, behavioral and cognitive factors to foster developmentally appropriate feeding and mealtime skills.
- Effective Expressions
-
A language based program that is appropriate for the child with high functioning autism or the child with Asperger's Syndrome. The program emphasizes appropriate communication with peers: how to begin and maintain a conversation, how to listen, and how to take turns.
- Fitness for Fun
-
A program that allows children an opportunity to exercise on equipment typically found at a gym. This program is intended to provide the older child, who still requires therapeutic intervention with the opportunity to "circuit train" under the supervision of a physical therapist.
- Get Wet
-
A hydrotherapy program that is in the developmental stages.
- Happy Handwriters
-
A program based on Handwriting Without Tears which combines instructional methods and fun activities for learning handwriting. The sessions will address fine motor strengthening, sensory processing and, of course, handwriting.
- Interactive Metronome
-
A 3 to 5 week program designed as an adjunct to treatment of the child with ADHD, poor coordination, dyspraxia, or poor processing skills. This new technology involves computerized learning that trains children to learn, focus, and attend by directly "exercising" hand or foot rhythm and sequencing. The child is asked to reproduce a variety of pattern that they hear "metronome style".
- Jubilant Jumpstart
-
A yoga program designed to help organize and focus the child with attention deficit disorder or high level autism. The program will be held prior to the school day.
- Kids in the Kitchen
-
A program that will emphasize following directions, sequencing, and enhancement of fine motor skills. Cooking activities will be used by an occupational therapist to meet the aforementioned goals.
- Let's Get Heels Down
-
A short term intensive therapy clinic for children who toe walk. A physical therapist will provide stretching, strengthening, gait training, and sensory activities in a group setting.
